Today, Callum presents the CALLUM SKYE, a high-performance electric multi-terrain vehicle built for discriminating off-road and on-road enthusiasts looking for exceptional experiences. The Skye is the first vehicle that Callum has developed and engineered internally.
According to Ian Callum, head of design at CALLUM, the four-meter-long SKYE has a straightforward exterior style that draws inspiration from its capabilities. The car is built to be more than just a vehicle with the least amount of bulk, the most capabilities, and the best driving experience. Its appearance highlights its harsh practical qualities and off-road ability, with a distinctive accent loop, a horizontal solid structure, and organic shapes on both the front and back.
With its all-electric powertrain and all-wheel drive, the CALLUM SKYE is a highly competent off-road vehicle and an exciting on-road vehicle. Equipped with a sturdy space frame chassis and a suspension suitable for rough terrain, it provides suitable ground clearance, comfort, and compliance. A 42kWh lithium-ion battery powers the SKYE, with a predicted range of 170 miles. A cutting-edge, lightning-fast charging battery that can charge from empty to full in less than 10 minutes is an option for customers. Targeting a dry weight of 1,150 kg, the car is expected to accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in less than four seconds and maintain perfect balance with a 50/50 weight distribution.
The director of engineering at CALLUM, Adam Donfrancesco, highlights the vehicle’s unwaveringly high functional objectives, guaranteeing that it overcomes the demanding conditions of diverse off-road terrain while providing ride comfort and handling on twisting country roads.
With its completely enclosed cabin, the CALLUM SKYE offers unrestricted pleasure and enjoyment without mess or fuss, eliminating the need for specialized gear. It is much quieter than its internal combustion engine counterparts and draws attention even if it simply leaves tread marks. The car is being carefully engineered and rigorously tested around Europe and the UK, with official specs and carefully chosen versions for either off-road or on-road usage expected to be unveiled in the spring of 2024.
The SKYE, according to David Fairbairn, managing director of CALLUM, fills a need in the market by giving discriminating owners access to a daring, exquisitely designed off-road vehicle that provides a feeling of enjoyment, independence, and escape. With its range of battery choices, the CALLUM SKYE aims to have an excellent environmental effect while making a big impression on the industry.
