ELLE Magazine and the Latin American Fashion Awards threw a beautiful cocktail party in Milan last night to honor Latin American culture and talent. The party took place during the busy Milan Fashion Week. The event was a celebration of the best young Latin American artists and was held at the elegant Da Giacomo Arengario. The event had a beautiful view of the city’s famous Piazza del Duomo.
Some of the most important people in fashion came together for the party. Cintha Garcia, editor-in-chief of ELLE, and Constanza Cavalli Etro and Silvia Argüello, co-founders of the Latin American Fashion Awards, worked together to put on the event. The visitors included fashion stars Thássia Naves and Anna Dello Russo, as well as industry executives and creatives. Guests enjoyed champagne and a choice of delectable small meals while admiring Milan’s vibrant environment and breathtaking views.
Not only did people meet new people and celebrate, but the night also showed how important it was for the Latin American Fashion Awards to be in Milan. Nina Garcia talked about how proud she was to support the event’s goal. Garcia said, “As a Latina who runs ELLE Magazine, it has always been my goal to give Latin American talent a chance.” She also talked about the history of the awards: “When Constanza and Silvia came to me with this idea more than two years ago, I knew it was the right time.” I was also sure that the Camera della Moda would back and value the craftsmanship and cultural importance of our heritage. The Latin American Fashion Awards are the first big event to honor these amazing artists, whose voices have been crying out for a long time for a big celebration. So happy to support this event, and so moved by Constanza and Silvia’s love for what they do.
Honorees of the Latin American Fashion Awards were there, such as Lineisy Montero, who was named the Dominican Republic Local Star, and Hiandra Martínez, who was named Model of the Year. The joyous sounds of a mariachi band, which brought some Latin American culture right in center of Italy, accentuated the positive attitude.
The Latin American Fashion Awards in many respects altered Milan Fashion Week. Among them was the rooftop festivity. Along with Camera Nazionale della Moda Italiana, the organization presented a display at Fashion Hub Milano where attendees may discover the life and work of the award winners. The event took place in a dedicated pavilion at the WHITE Show from September 19 to September 22. This allowed winners a unique opportunity to present their collections to clients from all around the globe, the media, and other industry professionals as well as each other.
The Latin American Fashion Awards are more than just a party; they’re a way to recognize and promote both new and known designers. Latin Icon of the Year goes to J Balvin. Designer of the Year goes to Willy Chavarria. Brand of the Year goes to Luar. And Accessories Brand of the Year goes to Daniela Villegas. Other awardees come from a wide range of fields, such as fashion photography, artisanal projects, and responsible fashion efforts. Though the winners of this year are still fresh in their minds, fans are already excited about the second awards event, set for November 2025.
Working together, ELLE and the Latin American Fashion Awards staged a vibrant celebration in Milan honoring both the history and the forward trajectory of Latin American creativity. Along with fresh clothes and a reminder of how crucial community is to the direction of the company, there was great cultural pride.
