The Miami Marriott Biscayne Bay hotel, a symbol of luxury and relaxation in the center of Miami, is tucked away along the scenic Biscayne Bay. With its prime downtown waterfront position, breathtaking vistas, and well-designed facilities, this hotel is a portal to a world of leisure and celebration.
For more than four decades, the Miami Marriott Biscayne Bay has been a prominent feature of the world-famous destination, Miami, in the center of the vibrant Magic City. The property is a peaceful haven amongst Miami’s bustling surroundings. Because of its prime location directly on the sea, visitors can enjoy Biscayne Bay’s natural beauty while close to the city’s vibrant entertainment and cultural areas. The hotel has a lot of shopping and dining alternatives nearby, as well as world-class museums, art galleries, and Broadway musicals.
About the Bay Waterway, the hotel’s downtown location is ideal for the renowned culture and nightlife of the area and for bikers, boaters, swimmers, and pretty much anything else that can be enjoyed under the South Florida sun. Biscayne National Park is the only submerged national park in the United States.
However, the actual stay is what will undoubtedly create enduring memories. The recently renovated Marriott Biscayne Bay, with its more than 600 roomy and elegantly furnished guest rooms, guarantees a comfortable stay for all guests—whether they are families, couples, guy or girl groups, business or solo travelers, event attendees, or anyone else who appreciates attentive customer care. Each newly renovated guest room and suite has views of Biscayne Bay and the surrounding metropolis and is decorated with a lively nautical theme. There are plenty of lodging alternatives with individual balconies as well. Each option has luxurious bedding and various contemporary creature amenities to suit leisure and business visitors.
Experiences with cuisine and alcohol are yet another hallmark of this specific Marriott hotel. Situated on the lower level with a bay view, the recently opened Gold Coast Kitchen + Cocktails has an airy, Streamline Moderne-inspired decor with subtle Art Deco touches. Offering both covered and open-air patio spaces, the restaurant provides a well-considered menu of coastal cuisine made with locally acquired ingredients. The restaurant’s extensive wine, champagne, and beer lists and its distinctive range of creative cocktails that emphasize rum and mezcal concoctions all enhance the dining experience. This features an IPA-focused selection supplied by nearby brewers.
The first M Club in downtown Miami is now accessible to guests at the Miami Marriott Biscayne Bay as part of the substantial renovations. The M Club is a brand hallmark at Marriott Hotel locations worldwide. With sweeping views of the bay, the area offers free drinks, a breakfast buffet, light fare, and evening hors d’oeuvres. Additionally, there are dining places and private workstations. Marriott Bonvoy Platinum, Titanium, and Ambassador members have access to M Club, as do visitors who would choose to upgrade their stay to include this specific facility.
The Miami Marriott Biscayne Bay welcomes visitors from all over the world. Still, it’s also a great place to hold conferences, business meetings, weddings, and other special events thanks to its 20,846 square feet of flexible rental space, which can be tailored to various needs. Travelers on business will value the hotel’s extensive meeting and event facilities, which are excellent for seminars and conferences and come with cutting-edge equipment and flexible configurations.
Recently, the resort wrapped up a multi-million-dollar, extensive restoration. I spoke with Julissa Kepner, the general manager of the Miami Marriott Biscayne Bay, to learn more about the extensive makeover. Here’s a little excerpt from that chat.
M.K.: You mentioned that The Properly recently undertook a refresh; could you elaborate on that?
J.K. Yes, we have been putting a lot of effort into giving our property a fresh, sophisticated look, along with improved service and general quality. Our downtown hotel, situated on the waterfront in Miami’s cultural district, offers guests a new, fashionable stay. We’re happy to report that we’ve finished renovating the entire hotel, including the guest rooms and suites, the lobby, the restaurant, and—coming soon—a gorgeous rooftop area on the fifth floor that will feature a new pool, pool bar, cabanas by the pool, and 14,000 square feet of event space with views of the bay and city.
Our newest addition, M Club, offers convenience and luxury for visitors always on the go. With 24-hour exclusive access, you can make the most of your visit. Every morning, there’s a breakfast buffet and hot hors d’oeuvres from Sunday through Thursday night. Beer and wine are available for purchase at night, and you may enjoy snacks and drinks during the day.
The Market, which offers fresh meals to go, brewed beverages, grab-and-go snacks, and additional beverage options, including fresh juices, probiotics, and protein drinks, as well as fresh-to-order juices, smoothies, and acai bowls, is another unique addition to the hotel experience.
M.K.: What Information About the Property Should People Know But May Not?
J.K.: Our recently remodeled hotel is in the ideal picturesque setting, offering local cuisines, cultural activities, and a breathtaking dawn. 360-degree vistas and magnificent neighborhoods surround it. Our level of hospitality is unparalleled. Our visitors may anticipate a kind greeting, a smile, attentive service, sincere gratitude, and the impression that our hotel is their “home away from home.” We also offer customized safety and security measures for guests such as ladies, kids, and senior citizens.
The Port of Miami, one of the most advanced ports in the world, two international airports, and the recently renovated, cutting-edge Miami Convention Center are all easily accessible from our hotel and provide a seamless arrival experience for visitors.
Additionally, there are many transit choices around our downtown location, making it simple to explore the surrounding region. You can easily visit well-known sites, shopping, nightlife, beaches, the port, and more with everything from classic trolley rides to picturesque water taxis and elevated trains.
M.K.: Which feature of the property is your particular favorite?
J.K.: Without a doubt, our gorgeous view and welcoming outdoor area, but also my incredible 200 coworkers who show up to work every day with an extraordinary enthusiasm for serving others,
M.K.In light of that, how would you characterize the hospitality philosophy of the property?
J.K.: People come first for us. “Look out for your colleagues, and they’ll look out for the customers.” Marriott International has been a terrific place to work for almost ninety-five years because of our founder’s mindset. The “heartbeat” of our hotel is its employees, who live up to our ethos of serving our communities and visitors.
By prioritizing our guests, we at the Miami Marriott Biscayne Bay are dedicated to upholding the highest standards of hospitality. Our employees go above and beyond daily to connect people via the power of travel. Our employees are the epitome of what it means to be hospitable—from crafting unique experiences at our hotel to leaving a lasting impression on the neighborhood. We take great satisfaction in constantly providing genuine service and ensuring our visitors have experiences that go above and beyond the norm.
M.K.: What About Your New On-Site Food and Beverage Options Is Especially Noteworthy?
J.K.: Gold Coast Kitchen + Cocktails embodies the tastes and atmosphere of the Southeast Atlantic coast, including Greater Miami. We bring the finest of the Gold Coast to your plate and drink by obtaining the freshest ingredients from nearby farmers and fishermen. At our downtown Miami Biscayne Bay hotel, we’ve blended the rich cultural legacy of the surrounding neighborhoods with food as diverse, inventive, and fresh as life by the sea. Our cocktail menu highlights a variety of white, rosé, sparkling, and light and accessible red wines, as well as local citrus fruits and tastes from Florida.
M.K.: How Will The Property Handle The Challenges Presented By The Pandemic Going Forward?
J.K. Our first goal at the Miami Marriott Biscayne Bay continues to be our employees’ and visitors’ health and safety. We are dedicated to adhering to federal rules and the instructions and suggestions issued by the local health authorities as we continue to navigate the difficulties posed by the epidemic. Improved cleaning and sanitation practices have been implemented all around the property. These include using authorized cleaning solutions, increasing airflow, and routinely disinfecting high-touch areas. Our top goal is to ensure our visitors are comfortable and safe, and we are dedicated to meeting their needs. We want your stay at the Miami Marriott Biscayne Bay to be worry-free.
M.K.: What Effects Has Technology Had on the Visitor Experience?
J.K.: Before, during, and after their trips, customers may use the Marriott Mobile app to interact with hotel personnel. They can ask questions or make specific requests for their rooms, like adding more pillows. Additionally, they get access to local travel information curated from other Marriott Mobile app users’ experiences.
M.K. Regarding day-to-day operations, which sustainable initiatives is the hotel implementing?
J.K.: We support energy and water conservation, besides other environmentally beneficial activities. Our hotel uses low-flow plumbing fittings, saving 30% of indoor water. We also prioritize healthy materials that have been shown to have minimal emissions and to be non-toxic. The purchase of renewable energy credits offset five years’ worth of power usage to promote the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions. All guestrooms have high-quality LED lighting installed to save energy, avoid glare, mimic natural light, minimize maintenance costs, and use fewer materials and resources.
M.K.In the cutthroat hotel industry, how do you plan to maintain your reputation?
J.K.: With the imminent opening of our brand-new, gorgeous fifth-story rooftop area that features a pool bar, a new pool, chic cabanas, and 14,000 square feet of event space overlooking the city and bay, we are putting the finishing touches on our comprehensive hotel transformation. As we continue to provide an enhanced visitor experience, we are concentrating on raising awareness of our fashionable new product.
M.K.: Are there any unique, surprising, or little-known details about the property or its location?
J.K.: Our home is located on the vast network of canals that Miami’s manatees use to navigate Biscayne Bay in the winter. The region from Biscayne Bay to Black Point Park & Marina, which is close to Biscayne National Park, is a well-liked destination for them. Though they may stay underwater for up to 20 minutes, manatees usually stick their whiskery snouts out of the water every two to five minutes, so bring some patience.
The Miami Marriott Biscayne Bay Hotel offers an experience rather than a resting place. The central position is bursting with possibility with its spectacular views of the subtropical splendor of Biscayne Bay and the Atlantic Ocean and surrounding South Beach, Brickell, and the Port of Miami. This location offers a whole Miami experience with its opulent suites, delicious dining options, and various activities both within and outside the hotel. This seaside haven is prepared to provide an unforgettable stay, whether you’re visiting the Magic City for business or pleasure.
