Genesis and the MICHELIN Guide Celebrate: As part of the festivities honoring International Women’s Month, a slew of New York City’s finest chefs gathered last night at Genesis House, a famous Korean restaurant famous for its culturally diverse menu. Le B’s Angie Mar, Raf’s Mary Attea and Camari Mick of Musket Room and Raf’s, and Aquavit’s Emma Bengtsson were all in attendance. Master sommeliers Pascaline Lepeltier and Mia Van de Water of Cote, joined by Sarah Gallegos of Corkbuzz, sipped the created cocktails while they mingled and sampled delicious food. The sophisticated cocoji floral arrangements that adorned the tables reflected the evening’s exquisite cuisine and added to the ambiance.

Prior to the start of the meal, Rachel Espersen of Genesis House welcomed everyone. Guests of honor included fourth-generation Russ & Daughters owner Niki Russ Federman, pastry chefs Ashley Drum of abcV and Kelly Nam, and Ahris Kim of Na: Eun Hospitality, the collective responsible for Atomix, Atoboy, and Naro. A sophisticated first course of Jeonbokchae sprinkled with ossetra caviar and a touch of gold set the tone for the evening, which included discussions about gender equality in the food sector and methods to support women in leadership roles.

As the evening progressed and the delectable creations of chef Losa Yi enchanted the guests, conversations turned to topics of motivation, heritage, and intentional creativity. As the night came to a close, guests were served Bam Pyeon, a delicious dessert with chestnut financier, coffee vanilla ice cream, and warm cinnamon anglaise. It was a night filled with laughter, new friendships, and a joint determination to create more venues for industry collaboration and discussion.
