Tucked on one of the most famous luxury avenues worldwide, Loro Piana’s rebuilt flagship store complements Beverly Hills’ upscale scene rather well. From ready-to-wear and homeware to its cocooning line and leather products, the legendary Italian brand—known for its legacy and excellent workmanship—unvelled a large new area that exquisitely combines its numerous offers.
This multistory shop honors a rich legacy spanning a century of great design while providing a fresh experience for its customers, so revitalizing Loro Piana. The brand staged a lavish celebration to mark this turning point, attracting a star-studded audience including Andrew Garfield, Rashida Jones, Lewis Pullman, and Kerry Washington. Discovering the newest collections and flipping through Masters of Fibers, a partnership with publisher Assouline, guests explored the beautiful chambers of the shop, lined with silk and raffia and covered with Loro Piana cashmere.
Written by historian Nicholas Foulkes, the book deftly chronicles the path of the brand throughout arresting images and close-ups with Loro Piana family members. The tone of a night to remember is set by the Tuscan-sourced glazed ceramic tiles of the flagship and its cosy, friendly environment. Inspired by Sergio Loro Piana’s own wardrobe, the upper level of the boutique is dedicated to private customer visits and displays some of the most exclusive items of the company, therefore creating a luxurious environment that reflects the core of Loro Piana’s elegant taste.
Following a vibrant cocktail hour, the celebration proceeded to the venerable Beverly Estate for a refined supper beneath the stars. Arriving in chic Loro Piana ensembles, notables such Michelle Williams, Jason Bateman, and Dwayne Wade embodied the brand’s ageless beauty. Over pre-dinner beverages, guests mingled and watched a calm courtyard as the captivating notes of Italian opera created the ambiance for an evening to remember.
Tables filled with seasonal fruits and autumnal flowers showed Loro Piana’s Italian roots mixed with a little Californian appeal under the mellow glow of candlelight. Respected chef Evan Funke created a meal that deftly merged current ideas with classic Italian tastes, so reflecting the brand’s goal of honoring legacy while embracing modernism in the food. Damien Bertrand, CEO of Loro Piana, spoke movingly to the assembled celebrities.
“Standing here at the beautiful Beverly Estate, built 100 years ago—the same year Loro Piana was founded—you can feel not only the spirit of Los Angeles but also the spirit of Italy, the spirit of heritage, the spirit of tradition, and the spirit of modernity,” he shared. The close-knit audience responded to his remarks, producing an environment more akin to a small gathering among friends than a major event.
