Vogue Seasoned Returns to Supervise Creative Strategy Across All Channels
Vogue today proclaimed the nomination of Raul Martinez as the fresh global creative leader for the publication. This appointment signifies Martinez’s re-entry to Vogue from Victoria’s Secret and Co., where he functioned as the Global Creative Leader from 2021 onwards. His designation becomes operational on February 5th, and he will provide direct updates to Anna Wintour, the global editorial head of Vogue and chief content director of Condé Nast.
In his recent designation, Martinez will supervise the universal creative guidance for the publication and aid in steering Vogue’s visual methodology on all platforms. Additionally, he will play a pivotal role in supporting Vogue’s video initiatives, ensuring the smooth incorporation of video content throughout all narratives, comprising brief formats, social snippets, news-oriented reels, and lengthier features.
Martinez entered Vogue as an adjunct art supervisor in 1988 and exited the publication in 1996 to co-establish AR New York, a creative and corporate branding enterprise that engineered promotional campaigns for Valentino, Calvin Klein, YSL, and others. He returned to Vogue in 2009 and was assigned as Condé Nast’s principal creative supervisor in 2015, where he molded the organization’s creative spotlight. Martinez has also received a National Magazine Honor for his photographic work.
“Raul possesses an intimate understanding of Vogue, coupled with extraordinary creativity and exceptional leadership qualities,” expressed Wintour. “I express the collective enthusiasm of our team in welcoming his return.”
“Vogue has perpetually provided a platform for showcasing fresh voices and talents. One of my primary enthusiasms lies in leveraging our platform to unveil emerging creatives to the world and to offer guidance to budding artists,” conveyed Martinez. “I am also eagerly anticipating conceptualizing novel narrative approaches – whether within the pages of the magazine, across social media, digitally, or through video. And naturally, I am exhilarated to be back at Condé Nast and to collaborate once again with Anna.”
