The Breakers are a group of people who have Palm Beach, one of America’s most well-known resort destinations. Before the pandemic halted travel, I always looked forward to my annual visit for a week of relaxation and exceptional hospitality. It’s not pretentious, but it’s the perfect blend of casual luxury and outstanding service. I’m not claiming that every visit was flawless from beginning to end. After all, I am a hotel reviewer who evaluates everything–even when I am not working. The overall resort experience, on the other hand, is consistently excellent. Aside from the high levels of hospitality, service, and amenities, all of the resort’s guests notice (and appreciate) the fact that it reinvests in itself year after year.
The Breakers, known for its gracious service, unrivaled seaside glamour, and world-class amenities, delivered on its promise of ongoing revitalization in 2020–2021 with Via Flagler’s introduction by The Breakers well as several enhancements to the 140-acre property’s vast array of amenities and spaces. Every year, the company spends an average of $25 million to strike a delicate balance between preservation and modernization while also introducing new and valuable products and services. This unprecedented financial investment in a single hotel ensures an outstanding guest experience.
One of the best resorts globally, which is constantly impressed by this dedication, continues to improve each year with these ongoing enhancements. In addition, the Breakers Palm Beach will celebrate its 125th anniversary in 2021, making it an even more memorable year. This fall is a great time to take advantage of several exciting promotions they are offering, such as Fall Savings, which runs from October 1, 2021, to December 16, 2021, and offers a variety of perks and benefits; guests can even combine this offer with their 6th Night Free promotion, which runs until December 16, 2021. If you haven’t yet had the pleasure of visiting The Breakers Palm Beach, now is the time to do so.
The Breakers has 538 rooms and suites, including the ultra-luxury Flagler Club, a boutique hotel perched on the resort’s ridge. The property includes a world-class private beach club with four pools, five whirlpool spas, 25 poolside bungalows, and a variety of on-site watersports, as well as ten restaurants ranging from casual beachfront to stylishly sophisticated. Two championship golf courses, ten Har-Tru tennis courts, a Forbes Five-Star spa, an indoor-outdoor oceanfront fitness center, 14 signature boutiques, and a Family Entertainment Center with an extensive program of activities for children are just some of the additional amenities.
“Reaching 125 years is a testament to Henry Flagler’s vision, the Kenan family’s unwavering commitment, and Palm Beach’s timeless appeal,” said Paul Leone, The Breakers’ CEO. “Our owners’ long-term, purpose-driven approach to our business, as well as their passion for our team’s well-being, have a significant impact on The Breakers’ long-term viability.” The Kenan family’s unwavering commitment, the dedication of our employees, and the loyalty of our customers are all critical to our success. Our long history as a dynamic, ever-improving company inspires us to believe that the best is yet to come.”
This independent hotel has survived and thrived for 125 years thanks to an entrepreneurial approach to business and dedicated family ownership (heirs of founder Henry M. Flagler, circa 1896). It is one of only about 1,000 family-owned businesses in the United States that is over 100 years old and still in the hands of its founders. The Breakers is also one of Florida’s oldest businesses, having been in operation for over a century. Each year, I come for the outstanding dining at the resort (and in the surrounding area), the convenience of one of my favorite golf courses (The Breakers’ Ocean Course) being direct across the street, and one of the best spa experiences on the East Coast. The Breakers Palm Beach is a truly unique destination that only improves with each visit.
“We are extremely fortunate to have such dedicated owners who operate with a long-term perspective,” Leone added. “We have been able to maintain our annual investment in capital improvements thanks to their loyalty and passion.” We are also grateful for our long-standing partnerships, such as with Tihany Design, who has reimagined numerous aspects of our resort, from our restaurants and poolside bungalows to our magnificent lobby, over the past almost ten years.”
