The two newly constructed ultra-luxury adventure ships, Seabourn Pursuit and Seabourn Venture, made history by sailing for the first time. Seabourn is a well-known brand in ultra-luxury cruises and expedition travel. This historic occasion took place at the magnificent Neko Harbor entrance in the midst of breathtaking icescapes to honor Seabourn Pursuit’s inaugural season in Antarctica. Each ship’s large bow hosted a celebration with caviar and champagne for the guests and team members in honor of the event.
“It was a very exciting day, and we could not think of a better way to commemorate our first trip to Antarctica than meeting up with our sister ship, Seabourn Venture,” said Seabourn Pursuit captain Stig Betten. Toasts and shouts were raised as the ships Seabourn Pursuit and Seabourn Venture sailed toward Antarctica, ushering in a new age of ultra-luxury adventure travel.
Captain Jeroen Schuchmann of Seabourn Venture called it a “Seabourn Moment” of the highest caliber, highlighting the importance of welcoming Seabourn Pursuit to Antarctica for her inaugural season. As the Antarctica season got underway, the two ships cruising together demonstrated Seabourn’s capacity to take more people to unique and far-off places.
“It was amazing to wake up this morning and join our guests and team virtually at this historic moment for our brand,” said Seabourn president Natalya Leahy, expressing her satisfaction in being there at this momentous occasion. She focused on how Seabourn redefined expedition trips by realizing the ideal of fusing iconic luxury with discovery.
While Seabourn Venture is starting its second season on the cold continent, Seabourn Pursuit has just started its first season there. The two ships will conduct 21-day trips to South Georgia, the Falkland Islands, and Antarctica, as well as 11–13-day trips to Antarctica. The ship’s expedition team led guided hikes, zodiac excursions, and views of penguin colonies throughout these trips, providing unmatched experiences in isolated environments. There’ll also be submerged exploration and kayaking options.
Seabourn Venture and Seabourn Pursuit, launched in 2022 and 2023, provide a luxury small ship experience with top-notch equipment under the guidance of a 24-person expedition crew of professionals. The ships, built to PC6 Polar Class requirements, include:
- A 4K GSS Cineflex camera for streaming pictures.
- Almost 30,000 square feet of deck area.
- Sophisticated hardware.
Wherever Starlink’s services are available, improved Wi-Fi access made possible by SpaceX’s Starlink guarantees expedition visitors faster and more dependable service.
Both Seabourn Pursuit and Seabourn Venture offer much room and luxury in addition to the expedition characteristics. They include eight dining establishments providing gourmet food, opulent all-suite accommodations, and two-level Wintergarden suites.
