Los Cabos’ downtown hotel scene has a stylish new arrival. Mexico Grand Hotels has officially opened Kadún, a 110-room boutique property located in the heart of Cabo San Lucas. The hotel debuted late last month, marking the company’s first downtown venture and a notable expansion for the Los Cabos–based hospitality group.
Set just steps from the Cabo San Lucas Marina and El Médano Beach, Kadún introduces a contemporary, design-forward concept to one of the destination’s most walkable and energetic neighborhoods.
A New Downtown Chapter for Mexico Grand Hotels
Kadún represents a strategic shift for Mexico Grand Hotels, whose portfolio has traditionally focused on large-scale resort properties throughout Los Cabos. With this opening, the group enters a more urban setting, offering a boutique alternative that places guests within immediate reach of the waterfront, restaurants, and nightlife.
The hotel was conceived as a reflection of local culture and creative expression, blending modern hospitality with the character of Baja California Sur.
Design Inspired by Baja California Sur
Throughout the property, Kadún’s interiors highlight regional craftsmanship and natural materials. Guest rooms and public spaces feature sculptural wood paneling, woven textures, and locally inspired artwork, alongside handcrafted ceramics and traditional masks sourced from the region.
The result is a visual language that feels contemporary yet deeply rooted in Baja’s artistic heritage.
“With Kadún, our goal was to create a hotel that doesn’t just exist in Cabo, but truly belongs to Cabo,” said Gabriel Ibarra Macías, sales and marketing director at Mexico Grand Hotels. “Everything—from the design to the programming—was crafted to honor the traditions, artistry, and natural beauty of Baja California Sur.”
Accommodations for Short and Extended Stays

Kadún offers a range of accommodations, including standard and deluxe rooms as well as larger suites designed for extended stays and small group travel. Select suites feature kitchenettes, private terraces, and outdoor jacuzzis, adding flexibility for guests planning longer visits.
This mix positions the hotel to appeal to weekend travelers, longer-stay guests, and visitors seeking a centrally located base in Cabo San Lucas.
Rooftop Pool, Dining, and Social Spaces

One of Kadún’s standout features is its rooftop pool and sun deck, which overlook the marina and downtown Cabo. The rooftop serves as a social hub, offering city and water views from above the bustle below.
The hotel is also home to two signature restaurants — UMBRAL and SAVIA — both focused on Baja-inspired cuisine, as well as an artisanal coffee shop, Lola Mia. Additional amenities include meeting and event spaces designed for intimate gatherings, private dinners, and small celebrations.
Cultural and Nature-Focused Experiences
Kadún extends its offering beyond accommodations with a series of curated experiences developed in collaboration with local partners. Programming includes marine excursions departing from the Cabo San Lucas Marina, artistic immersions in Todos Santos featuring studio visits and local culinary encounters, and countryside experiences centered on ranch culture, hands-on food preparation, tequila tastings, and outdoor dining.
These experiences are designed to connect guests more deeply with the landscapes, traditions, and communities of Baja California Sur.
Access to Mexico Grand Hotels’ Resort Portfolio
Guests staying at Kadún also enjoy access to amenities across Mexico Grand Hotels’ broader Los Cabos portfolio, including Hacienda Encantada Resort & Residences, Vista Encantada Spa Resort & Residences, and Marina Fiesta Resort & Spa. This allows travelers to pair a boutique downtown stay with full-scale resort experiences elsewhere in the destination.
