Micro Mondays is always the gateway to discovering the most interesting independent brands I’ve never heard of before. It’s also an opportunity to check out brands from further afield, rather than the typical British or European contingent that can dominate the market. One such brand that’s caught our eye this week is Tedoro, a Lebanese brand founded by Gilbert Maalouf, born of a pure passion for watches, with one clear ambition: to produce high-quality, timeless watches with character, intention, and a story collectors can connect with.

Its latest, the Harmony 39 Sarab Limited Edition, embodies this perfectly, taking elements that collectors love, such as stone dials, integrated bracelets and GMT complications, and delivering them in a stylish, unique and value-forward package.
The case

As far as watch cases go, integrated bracelet designs can sometimes lean towards the larger side, or at least, appear to on the wrist. It seems the Harmony 39 doesn’t suffer from this, though, thanks to its well-considered proportions. Crafted from 316L stainless steel, it measures a tidy 39mm across, sitting in that golden range of comfort and subtle presence. Tedoro, sadly, doesn’t state the exact case thickness; however, judging by the side profile, it’s clear that the shallow flanks and thin bezel mean this is not a hefty, oversized watch by any means.

The case features are kept simple, free of distracting facets and details. Just plain and simple, clean and subtle angles finished with neat brushing with well-polished edges. Up front, there’s an anti-reflective flat sapphire crystal, to the side, a well-sized, tactile crown, both working together to offer 100 metres of water resistance, and, finally, the back is finished with a decorative, individually numbered solid caseback, engraved with six Gulf landmarks, each representing one of the six GCC countries.
The dial

The most eye-catching part of the Harmony 39 Sarab is clearly the dial, finished in mother-of-pearl, with sections laid in a geometric pattern across the surface. “Sarab” is the Arabic word for “mirage”, and the mother-of-pearl material choice captures this well, reflecting ghost-like ripples of light in all directions. This is interrupted by applied Eastern Arabic numerals, which, as we know, are always a collector’s favourite.
The dial is framed by a shallow-angled rehaut, which houses the GMT night/day 24-hour indicator in a unique white-and-sandy-tan colour, rather than a typical vibrant colourway you’d find on most GMTs. Eastern Arabic numerals appear throughout, forgoing the traditional look in favour of something more fitting to the watch’s theme. This is paired with a clean and subtle GMT hand that does the job without letting the world know it’s there.
The movement

The Harmony 39 is powered by the Japanese Miyota 9075 calibre, an automatic, self-winding mechanical GMT movement, which is a regular in the microbrand scene, and for good reason. It’s a solid, reliable and accurate movement, and as a GMT fan, it’s good to see a “true” GMT calibre in use at this price point. Alongside that, it offers a respectable 42-hour power reserve while beating at 28,800 Vph. One aspect of the 9075 is that it’s definitely one of the more utilitarian-looking movements out there, so it’s good to see that Terodo has opted to hide it with a decorated caseback, rather than putting it on show unnecessarily.
The bracelet

The Harmony 39’s integrated design blends seamlessly with the stainless steel bracelet, which tapers nicely and is finished with a combination of polished and brushed surfaces. The H-links are removable for easy fitting, and the small end links feature tiny quick-release spring bars, allowing for the bracelet to be swapped out for optional tapered integrated-style leather and rubber straps, available as options from Tedoro.
The verdict

The integrated bracelet arena is undoubtedly a busy one, with every brand out there offering its own version in one way or another. This can make it difficult to stand out, especially since the nature of the design itself means each watch can look very similar. Tedoro has put significant effort into the dial on this limited edition, turning it from a watch that subtly blends in to one that’s definitely going to attract those “Ooo, what’s that on your wrist?” kinds of questions, and for the price point, that is not at all to be sniffed at.
