Veja is spotlighting one of its internal shoemakers for their most recent partnership.
The shoe company and Dover Street Market are collaborating on a limited-edition footwear line to honor artistry. Veja’s V-90 model is available in 20 different designs in this collection. Walter, the company’s in-house cobbler, creates each pair of shoes.
The cobbler recycles leftover leather to create designs on the rear of the sneakers, carrying on Veja’s sustainability aim. Every pair has a distinct creation and comes in a range of colors.
Veja has built four stores with its in-house cobbler worldwide in the last few years. At its Paris warehouse, the firm also uses a mobile cobbler service that assists with cleaning and repairing Veja sneakers. Eleven Veja cobblers work for the brand overall, and they have fixed almost 18,000 pairs of shoes thus far.
Prices for the premium Dover Street Market Ginza in Japan range from 250 yen to 40,000 yen for the limited-edition Veja line.
After first running at Veja shops in Berlin and Paris, Veja extended its cobbler program earlier this year to additional locations in Madrid and a future site in Brooklyn. The brand started several high-end partnerships in 2022, working with designers including Mansur Gavriel and Marni. Veja and Reformation collaborated on a sustainable shoe that came in two hues earlier this month.
