Milan Design:
Lexus will unveil its installation, “Time,” at Milan Design Week 2024. The installation will offer an interactive exploration of software-driven design’s boundless potential to customize real-time experiences for individuals. The presentation will feature distinctive creations by two prominent global designers, aiming to shed light on the future of design centered around human experiences, showcased at the world’s largest design event.
Established 35 years ago, Lexus has consistently challenged conventional norms in the luxury automotive sector, pushing the limits in product innovation and service delivery to craft new encounters that honor each moment of a patron’s time.
Expanding on this philosophy, “Time” delves into the realm of software-defined hardware, which promises to expand the scope of personalized experiences infinitely, enabling future designs to anticipate and adapt to each person’s unique needs seamlessly.
The exhibition comprises two installations situated within the same venue. The indoor display, “BEYOND THE HORIZON,” crafted by Hideki Yoshimoto of Tangent, portrays a vision of next-generation mobility that perpetually evolves through software advancements. This is complemented by the melodic compositions of Keiichiro Shibuya, creating an immersive ambiance for visitors.
Marjan van Aubel’s “8 Minutes 20 Seconds,” showcased outdoors, embodies her collaborative efforts with Lexus to pioneer novel approaches to design and technology, focusing on achieving a carbon-neutral future.
Both exhibits integrate the groundbreaking Lexus electric vehicle LF-ZC, symbolizing the harmonious fusion of hardware and software that redefines the automotive experience.
Lexus has been a prominent participant at Milan Design Week for nearly two decades, collaborating with esteemed designers and artists to craft immersive experiences. Notable collaborators include Philippe Nigro, Sou Fujimoto, Rhizomatiks, Germane Barnes, and Suchi Reddy.
