(Crewe and Speyside, 13th March 2024) – The Macallan Horizon marks a pioneering venture, meticulously crafted in partnership with Bentley Motors, converging the realms of exceptional single malt whisky and unparalleled automotive design. The Macallan Horizon transcends boundaries by merging age-old craftsmanship with state-of-the-art engineering, where purpose converges with ingenuity, artistry, and allure.

Presented in a visionary horizontal receptacle featuring a unique twist detail, this expertly concocted single malt Scotch whisky epitomizes an unmatched dedication to innovation and design, reflecting the horizontal expanse symbolic of the automotive arena.

The conceptualization of this release emerged from a profound collaboration between The Macallan and Bentley Motors. In homage to The Macallan’s Six Pillars, six distinct materials are interwoven, embodying the essence of both brands and their pioneering partnership.

The Macallan Horizon is elegantly encased within a bespoke glass vessel, an intrinsic material shared by The Macallan and Bentley, daringly challenging the conventional norms of whisky presentation. Wrapped in an aluminium ribbon, meticulously engineered to Bentley’s exacting standards, paying homage to the critical material adorning the sculptural framework and bodywork of a Bentley. The vessel is nestled within a sculpture swathed in the finest low-carbon leather, meticulously crafted in a chestnut hue to embellish and safeguard the precious elixir. A surrounding copper framework, crafted from recycled copper, including remnants from The Macallan’s previous stills, prior to the unveiling of its renowned new Distillery in 2019.

Incorporating another fundamental material shared by both brands, an oak wood inlay adorns the closure, hewn from one of the six casks utilized in the whisky’s maturation process, inspired by the aesthetic allure of Bentley’s Drive Dynamic Control rotary dial. The sculpture culminates with Bentley’s Crown Cut Walnut veneer, meticulously tailored to adorn its vehicles. The pièce de résistance lies in the sophisticated and daring single malt Scotch whisky, exclusively tailored for The Macallan Horizon.

Crafted with precision by The Macallan Master Whisky Maker, Kirsteen Campbell, utilizing six first-fill sherry seasoned oak casks, this whisky embodies the essence of Bentley. Six unique casks, carefully selected from The Macallan Estate’s vast reserves, imparting distinct characteristics to The Macallan Horizon.

Abundant notes of rich, indulgent dried fruits and spices, harmoniously entwined with oak and leather undertones, evoke sensations akin to Bentley’s world. The whisky’s opulent and enduring finish mirrors the timeless allure and design of Bentley’s creations, promising a sensory journey through taste and texture.
