Ferrari concluded a tumultuous day on a positive note, clinching second place in both GT3 classes during the 12 Hours of Sebring on Saturday.
Starting from the back, No. 62 Risi Competizione Ferrari 296 GT3 surged to second place at Daytona.
The last occasion the Risi Competizione squad graced the Sebring podium was in 2017, clinching third place with drivers Calado, Giancarlo Fisichella, and Toni Vilander.
Encountering several setbacks in the initial phase of the 12-hour endurance race, the No. 47 Cetilar Racing Ferrari 296 GT3, nevertheless, saw Antonio Fuoco trailing the GTD class winner by a mere 0.646 seconds.
Serra, with Calado and Rigon, aimed for second podium position. Commencing as the starting driver, Rigon faced an early setback on the opening lap but emerged unscathed after navigating a precarious slide amidst the clustered cars.
During a tire change, the team faced issues, leading to penalties.
Despite these adversities, the team demonstrated resilience, clawing back from the 10th position in the fiercely competitive GT3 classes boasting All-Pro lineups.
Competing in GTD’s Pro-Am, Cetilar Racing aimed to replicate their 2022 Sebring victory, rebounding from spins to climb to 10th.
At the midpoint, Conquest Racing led GTD but finished 11th.
Despite occupying the fourth position with two hours remaining, the team faltered in the race’s latter stages.
Triarsi, Rovera, and Scardina secured second and third places.
However, a late pit stop to rectify malfunctioning headlights resulted in the team plummeting to fourteenth place at the race’s conclusion.
No. 21 AF Corse Ferrari climbed fourth.
However, the vehicle’s campaign was cut short when Molina was struck by the race leader, triggering a spectacular collision. Although Molina managed to extricate himself from the wreckage, he retired from the race, relegating the car to 19th place in GTD.
IMSA Endurance Cup allocated points at intervals, with Risi Competizione and Triarsi earning bonuses, trailing by small margins.
Conquest Racing joins the IMSA SportsCar Championship round at Long Beach Grand Prix on April 21.
