Phillips New York is bringing nearly 90 collectible timepieces to its latest online auction, with rare models from Kari Voutilainen and F.P. Journe joining standout pieces from Patek Philippe, Rolex and Jaeger-LeCoultre.
Running through October 9 in partnership with Bacs & Russo, the sale is the highest-value online watch auction organized by Phillips’ New York team to date.
A Record-Breaking Year for Phillips
The auction follows an exceptional season for Phillips, which generated $235.5 million across its watch sales. For the first time in the industry, the auction house sold three watches for more than $10 million each.
Its Geneva sale in May also set a new record as the highest-grossing watch auction, generating 74.8 million Swiss francs, or approximately $96.3 million at the current exchange rate.
Paul Boutros, deputy chairman and head of watches, Americas, at Phillips, said the latest sale reflects continued collector interest in independent watchmaking, major Swiss brands and exceptionally preserved examples.
Voutilainen Leads the Sale
The standout lot is an exceptionally rare Kari Voutilainen 28Sport, a limited-edition model that combines the proportions of a traditional dress watch with a sportier character.
Introduced in 2020, the 28Sport was limited to eight titanium examples and eight in steel. The steel watch in the Phillips sale features an onyx dial paired with a blue guilloché hour track and may be one of only two produced in that particular configuration.
The watch carries an original estimate of $120,000 to $240,000, but bidding has already reached $550,000.
Patek Philippe and Rolex Join the Lineup

Other notable lots include the Patek Philippe Ref. 5270J in yellow gold, estimated at $80,000 to $160,000.
A Rolex Daytona Ref. 116506, widely known as the “Platona,” is also among the highlights. The platinum chronograph features Rolex’s distinctive ice-blue dial with diamond hour markers.
Together, the selection spans independent watchmaking and established luxury brands, giving collectors access to both limited-production pieces and important references from major manufacturers.
Nearly $4 Million in Pre-Sale Estimates

The auction comprises 88 lots, with estimates ranging from $2,000 to $240,000. The lots are scheduled to close approximately one minute apart on October 9.
Based on the high end of the pre-sale estimates, the collection is projected to bring in around $3.94 million. The Voutilainen’s rapidly rising bids, however, have already pushed the leading lot well beyond its original estimate.
