Renowned for its links to vintage Hollywood, the Sunset Strip was the ideal setting for a sophisticated evening organized by Italian fashion label Tod’s. Showcasing the brand’s autumn collection under Matteo Tamburini’s creative guidance, Tod’s convened a select group of friends and supporters at the iconic Sunset Tower on Wednesday night for an intimate meal.
The little back area was set aside for the special event while normal hotel guests ate in the main restaurant. Among the guests were Kerry Washington, Amber Valletta, Matt Bomer, Kelly Rowland, Edgar Ramirez, Justine Lupe, and Jurnee Smollett in the softly lighted area. Before they entered the lounge, guests were met at the door by a line of champagne trays and bite-sized hors d’oeuvres. A live pianist performed during cocktail hour to create a refined soundtrack as guests chatted with one another.
While Bomer and Ramirez caught up over drinks, Washington and Lupe had a happy reunion; Valetta savored a quiet moment near the bar with a friend. Arriving barely in time to join the party before supper started, Rowland and Smollett Thoughtful accents abound throughout the lounge: a lit fireplace in one corner that lends a pleasant touch, a bar where patrons may order martinis, and quiet seating sections for private conversations. A beautifully set tabletop with dahlias, zinnias, and flickering candles creating an inviting environment for dinner dominated it all. Visitors selected branzino or filet mignon for the main course; the evening ended with a rich chocolate dessert loaded with fudge. This evening was sophisticated, elegant, and refined—just the right celebration for Tod’s most recent collection on the venerable Sunset Strip.
