ELamborghini Celebrates Mirko Bortolotti’s Maiden DTM Title with a Prestigious Museum Display

Lamborghini is marking a historic milestone by celebrating Mirko Bortolotti’s maiden DTM title. The championship-winning #92 SSR Performance Huracán GT3 EVO2 will take its rightful place in Lamborghini’s prestigious “walk of fame” at the Automobili Lamborghini Museum in Sant’ Agata Bolognese. Starting December 23rd, the car will be displayed alongside other iconic Lamborghini models, cementing its legacy as part of the brand’s storied history.

The handover ceremony, held on December 10th, was a grand affair at Lamborghini’s headquarters. Key figures such as Lamborghini CEO Stephan Winkelmann, Chief Marketing and Sales Officer Federico Foschini, Chief Technical Officer Rouven Mohr, and the championship-winning driver Mirko Bortolotti attended the event. The Huracán GT3 EVO2’s inclusion in the museum honors not only its championship win but also Lamborghini’s remarkable evolution in the DTM series since its debut three years ago.

This win is particularly momentous as it marks the first time since 1993 that both an Italian brand and driver have secured the DTM championship. Lamborghini’s fourth full season in the series and its second with SSR Performance resulted in a spectacular haul of nine victories, nine pole positions, and 28 podium finishes, solidifying the Huracán GT3 EVO2’s position as one of the most successful cars in the competition.

Lamborghini CEO Stephan Winkelmann reflected on the achievement:
“Three years ago, we entered the DTM championship for the very first time. It was a very important first step for us, to be involved in such an iconic and historic series. Since our first season, we have learned a lot and grown as a brand. The hard work and dedication of SSR Performance and Lamborghini Squadra Corse this season have been rewarded with the ultimate prize.”

Rouven Mohr, Lamborghini’s Chief Technical Officer, also praised the collaboration:
“To win any championship, but especially the DTM championship, you need consistency, performance, and strong teamwork. SSR Performance and Lamborghini Squadra Corse produced the strongest package this year, and this collaboration has developed into something truly special. Mirko Bortolotti’s consistency and professionalism throughout the year were key elements of this success, and he completely deserves this recognition.”

The #92 Huracán GT3 EVO2 epitomizes Lamborghini’s relentless pursuit of excellence. Its aggressive aerodynamics, cutting-edge engineering, and precision handling have made it a dominant force on the DTM circuit. Alongside its technical prowess, the car’s striking design and performance embody the luxury and innovation that Lamborghini represents.

Mirko Bortolotti’s exceptional consistency during the 2024 DTM season played a pivotal role in securing the championship. His solitary race victory, three pole positions, and points finishes in every race demonstrated his skill and determination. These performances also helped Lamborghini claim second place in the manufacturers’ standings, further showcasing the brand’s competitive edge.

The inclusion of the championship-winning Huracán GT3 EVO2 in the Automobili Lamborghini Museum underscores Lamborghini’s significant achievement in motorsport. Mirko Bortolotti’s triumph, coupled with SSR Performance’s dedication, represents a defining moment in the brand’s racing history. As Lamborghini continues to innovate and push boundaries, this victory not only celebrates past accomplishments but also paves the way for a promising future in motorsport.
