In the vast archipelago of Indonesia, the largest globally with over 15,000 islands, an Australian builder, Maritimo, has found its first owner for the M75 flybridge yacht. This Kiwi adventurer is looking to surf from Bali to the Mentawai Islands off Sumatra, and he’s chosen a vessel capable of much more.

The Adventure Begins: From the Gold Coast to Southeast Asia

The journey kicks off with a trip from the Gold Coast to Auckland, New Zealand, a shakedown cruise and a visit to family. Then, this flagship of Maritimo, the M75, sets its course for Southeast Asia. With over 10,000 liters of fuel in central and wing tanks, Rolls Royce MTU 1625 HP power plants, and Maritimo’s shallow shaft drives, it can comfortably sail to New Zealand with ample safety margins.

Island-Hopping and Beyond

Following New Zealand, the M75 can island-hop through New Caledonia, Vanuatu, the Solomons, or Papua New Guinea. Eventually, it will make its way to Indonesian waters, spanning a distance akin to a journey from San Francisco to New York. This ambitious route is the brainchild of Maritimo CEO Tom Barry-Cotter, who meticulously sea-trials his creations, a tradition passed down from his father, Bill Barry-Cotter, the founder of both Riviera and Maritimo.

Luxury Meets Practicality

The M75 is not only designed for Asian cruising but can realistically take on trans-Pacific passages. While once small superyachts were defined as 80+ feet, today’s yachts are technologically superior, even at 75 feet LOA. Maritimo’s M75 offers a remarkable combination of luxury, practicality, and performance.

Featuring an impressive design with racy hull windows and a variable deadrise hull, this yacht focuses on offshore cruising efficiency, range, comfort, and stability. The shallow straight shaft drive technology, Scania Di16 1150 HPs, and Nibral propellers make for a relatively low draft, allowing it to anchor in more places.
