October 2026 Fashion News: Reformation, SKIMS, Chanel, and More

October is bringing a fresh wave of fashion collaborations, luxury retail openings, new collections, and brand campaigns. Following the conclusion of fashion month across New York, London, Milan, and Paris, designers and retailers are turning their attention to the next season with new releases and creative partnerships.

Among this month’s notable developments are Reformation’s collaboration with Alexa Chung, the launch of SKIMS’ Alpine collection, the return of designer Kris Brock with his new label, and a 30th-anniversary capsule collection from Jimmy Choo. Chanel has also expanded its retail presence in California, while FRAME and Ritz Paris have unveiled a new campaign starring musician Charlotte Lawrence.

Reformation has partnered with British style personality Alexa Chung on a 30-piece collection inspired by classic British fashion and vintage romance.

The collection combines tailored velvet jackets, graphic T-shirts, and sequin bags, blending traditional silhouettes with playful details. One of the graphic tees features the phrase “much too much,” reflecting the range’s lighthearted approach to personal style.

The collaboration draws on Chung’s long-standing influence in fashion and Reformation’s contemporary approach to everyday dressing. Several pieces have reportedly been selling quickly following the launch.

Designer Kris Brock has returned to fashion with the launch of BROCK, a new label unveiled during Paris Fashion Week, five years after stepping away from his previous brand.

The debut collection is planned for Spring/Summer 2027, with a resort collection expected to follow the next summer. The 80-piece lineup revisits the designer’s signature romantic aesthetic through floral prints, lace, ruffles, and feminine detailing.

Brock said his return was driven by a renewed appreciation for the creative process of making clothes. Most pieces in the collection are priced below $1,000, placing the label within the contemporary luxury market.

The collection includes faux-fur puffer jackets, cable-knit turtlenecks, sherpa trousers, and other cold-weather staples. Designed for both winter destinations and everyday city wear, the range builds on the brand’s growing presence in seasonal apparel following its collaboration with The North Face.

With its emphasis on comfortable fabrics and coordinated pieces, the Alpine collection offers consumers additional options for updating their wardrobes as temperatures fall.

The campaign follows Lawrence through a day in Paris wearing pieces from the latest collection, including the Ritz Suede Smoking Jacket and FRAME’s Ritz Cigarette jeans. The denim style features a low-rise fit, dark-wash finish, and embroidered pocket detailing.

To mark the launch, the brands are hosting a pop-up at the Ritz Paris Boutique in the hotel’s gallery at 15 Place Vendôme. Visitors can explore the collection and enjoy sweets from Ritz Paris Le Comptoir, with a gift available with qualifying purchases while supplies last.

Jimmy Choo Celebrates 30 Years With Pearls of Wisdom

Jimmy Choo is marking its 30th anniversary with the launch of its Pearls of Wisdom capsule collection, introduced on October 6.

Created by Creative Director Sandra Choi, the collection revisits one of the house’s signature embellishments, incorporating pearls into footwear, handbags, and jewellery. Standout designs include the Ithaca shoes, featuring pearls on a gold wedge, and the Irina sandal, decorated with crystals and pearls.

Choi described the pearl as a defining motif for the brand, reflecting a balance of elegance, understated appeal, and playful character. The capsule connects Jimmy Choo’s heritage with a contemporary interpretation of its established design codes.

Chanel opened a new boutique at Westfield University Town Center in San Diego, California, on October 8.

Designed by New York-based architect Peter Marino, the two-storey, 16,000-square-foot space houses the brand’s ready-to-wear collections, watches, fine jewellery, fragrances, and beauty products.

The interior incorporates references to Gabrielle “Coco” Chanel’s apartment at 31 Rue Cambon in Paris. Carefully selected furnishings and decorative objects bring elements of the house’s history into the new retail environment.

The opening further strengthens Chanel’s physical retail presence in the United States while maintaining the design language associated with the luxury house.

Urban Outfitters Launches Its First Back-to-Campus Commercial

Urban Outfitters has introduced its first-ever back-to-campus brand commercial, titled All Together Now.

The campaign celebrates college communities, athletes, students, and campus traditions, with a particular focus on the culture surrounding college football season.

The retailer is also planning on-campus activations throughout the season. One recent event at the University of Wisconsin–Madison featured performances by Mack Keane, The Linda Lindas, and Whatmore, alongside an in-store event with Levi’s.

The initiative highlights Urban Outfitters’ efforts to connect with college-age consumers through music, fashion, and live campus experiences.

A Busy Month for Fashion and Retail

October’s developments reflect the industry’s continued emphasis on collaborations, heritage-driven collections, experiential marketing, and physical retail expansion. From SKIMS’ move into winter dressing to Jimmy Choo’s anniversary celebration and Chanel’s latest boutique, brands are using new releases and consumer experiences to maintain momentum beyond fashion month.

With additional campaigns, launches, and store openings expected throughout the month, October is shaping up to be an active period for both luxury labels and contemporary fashion retailers.
