The iconic Orient Express, a timeless symbol of elegance and luxury rail travel, is set to make its grand return in 2027—nearly fifty years after its last full voyage across Europe. Originally launched in 1883, the legendary train once connected Paris and Istanbul, enchanting the elite with its unparalleled sophistication and inspiring literary classics like Agatha Christie’s Murder on the Orient Express.
Now, under the stewardship of Accor, the Orient Express is being reborn. The revival will merge the grandeur of the 1920s with modern luxury, offering travelers a rare opportunity to relive the golden age of rail in comfort and style.

A Revival Rooted in History and Craftsmanship
The project involves the meticulous restoration of original 1920s carriages, discovered abandoned near the Poland–Belarus border. Seventeen of these rare cars have been carefully renovated by expert artisans to maintain their Art Deco splendor, featuring polished wood interiors, intricate marquetry, and vintage lighting.
Passengers can expect lavish suites with double beds, handcrafted interiors, Cartier clocks, and bespoke service—creating a seamless fusion of nostalgia and modern refinement.

Exhibition and Public Preview
Before its official launch, the restored carriages will be showcased at the Museum of Decorative Arts in Paris as part of the “1925–2025: A Century of Art Deco” exhibition. Visitors can admire the exquisite craftsmanship and artistry that defined early 20th-century travel.
A New Chapter in Luxury Rail Travel
When the Orient Express resumes its full Paris–Istanbul route in 2027, it will mark the dawn of a new era in experiential travel—a journey that marries history, luxury, and cultural allure. Ticket prices are yet to be announced but are expected to reflect the exclusivity of this once-in-a-lifetime experience.
For travelers seeking more than a destination, the Orient Express offers a voyage through time, where every detail evokes romance, elegance, and discovery.
