Are you looking for a quiet retreat on an island with a profound history, electrifying blue seas, and few people? It’s then time to travel to Gozo.

Gozo is only one of the beautiful islands that make up the Malta archipelago, and it is situated in the Mediterranean. Despite being inhabited for hundreds of years, this location has managed to maintain its beauty and tranquility. If they’re willing to make the drive, it’s a spot where both outdoor enthusiasts and relaxed tourists may find a little happiness. What you need to know to organize the ideal vacation to Gozo is provided here.

Information About Gozo

Gozo is a tiny island, measuring only twenty-six square miles. This location is designed for leisure and relaxation; hence, individuals seeking a wild nightlife should avoid it. Even though it’s peaceful, there are still many things to see and do, especially for those who want an active getaway. Additionally, as euros are the currency used in Malta, be sure to exchange your dollars for euros before you depart.

When Is It Best to Go to Gozo?

Fortunately, there’s always a good time to visit Gozo. The average annual temperature, according to WeatherSpark, is between 50°F and 87°F, with very few days falling below 44°F. That being said, the ideal time to go is in the summer, from June to September, when the average high temperature is 86°F, if you want mild weather suitable for a swim in the ocean. Additionally, take advantage of the shoulder seasons in the 70s during the fall (mid-September to November) and spring (April and May).

Activities in Gozo

Go to the Azure Window’s one-time website.

One of Gozo’s most remarkable natural wonders, the Azure Window, was even mentioned in TV series such as Game of Thrones. Even though it tragically collapsed in 2017, the location is still worthwhile to explore. Take as much time as you like to hike around Dwejra Bay, enjoying the views of the rocky coastline and other unique locations like the Inland Sea lagoon, the Fungus Rock, and the Blue Hole.

View the castle.

Visit the Rabat Citadel (also known as Victoria) to learn more about the island’s history. Constructed in the fifteenth century, the walled city still houses several historically significant locations and some of the island’s institutions, notably the Museum of Archeology. Because of its hilltop elevation, the Citadel also has one of the most incredible views in the area; while you’re there, take a 360-degree tour.

Go to the Blue Lagoon via boat.

Even though Gozo is a beautiful island, it’s a good idea to take a boat to the Blue Lagoon, one of its most well-known attractions. The lagoon, bordered by coves and caves worth exploring, is the stuff of Instagram fantasies. It is situated on the adjacent island of Comino. The water in the lagoon is almost too blue to be true. Take a day trip on a public cruise for a short visit, or charter a sailboat for a more intimate experience

At Ramla Beach, unwind.

Visit Ramla Beach, which has the smoothest sand on the island, if you’re visiting during the warmer months. Since the beach is significant, you should have no problem finding a place to set up shop for the day. However, remember that because it’s a popular site, you’ll probably share space with a few other tourists.

View the pans of salt.

An additional magnificent attraction to see in Gozo is the Xwejni Salt Pans. The salt pans on the island’s northern tip have been a vital component of Gozo culture for hundreds of years since the natives first began gathering salt for their needs. Because of their distinctive patterns, they are also pretty picturesque locations.
