In his Summer 2023 men’s collection, Kim Jones respects Monsieur Dior’s love of the outdoors and incorporates a more daring side by working with Mystery Ranch. This Montana-based outdoor company makes sturdy backpacks for excursions in all weather conditions. Three bags and one wallet were made for the Dior and Mystery Ranch partnership, and their durability was tested in the Rocky Mountains. A reimagined saddle bag with an aluminum “cd” clasp for outdoor use, featuring a nylon jacquard shoulder strap with a top band sewn for attaching different accessories The Dior by Mystery Ranch Gallagator backpack is made for city exploration. It has the iconic American brand’s y-shaped 3-zip closing mechanism, providing instant access to the bag’s inner storage pockets. Every pack is constructed of 100% recycled cordura® re/corTM nylon 6.6 fabric, which is robust and durable. It is embroidered with a leather crest that intertwines the seals of the two houses and has a cushioned surface for maximum comfort in any situation. 

Sandra Choi, creative director of Jimmy Choo, collaborated exclusively with the Japanese shojo (girls’ manga) series Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon, written and drawn by Naoko Takeuchi, to celebrate its 30th anniversary. Every Jimmy Choo shoe is infused with the capsule collection, developed around their common ideals of solid individualism, zeitgeist-defining iconography, and female empowerment. The five distinct shoe models in the capsule collection are all named after the main characters of this manga hit, the “Sailor Guardians.” Knee-high stretch boots are called Sailor Moon—shiny leather ankle boots designed by Sailor Mercury with a platform sole for practicality and energy. Red pumps with a sharply pointed vamp and kick heel are called Sailor Mars. Robust green combat boots with a lace-up leather design, a rubber lug sole, and a block heel are called Sailor Jupiter. Last but not least, Sailor Venus is the name of a pair of platform high-heeled shoes with a thin ankle strap coated in vivid orange satin and sprinkled with crystals. An extra crystal-encrusted purse represents the mentor cat Luna, and for those who prefer sneakers or moccasins instead of heels, there is also an option. 

Jimmy Choo invited DJ Honey Dijon and DJ/producer YuSu, located in Vancouver, to write two unique songs influenced by Sailor Moon to round out the compilation. They were inspired by vaporwave sounds, and the two memorable house songs “Sun” and “Moon” change in sync with the Sailor Guardians’ metamorphosis. Selected global pop-ups will be offering limited-edition vinyl as a bonus with purchase.

Miu Miu and New Balance partnered for the Spring/Summer 2023 collection. Three new versions of the famous 574 sneakers are available in bleached white leather, cognac denim with a marble look, and fringed blue. The deconstruction and rebuilding aspects of the shoes are a reflection of Miu Miu’s present mindset. 

The prestigious French brand Christian Louboutin and Mytheresa, one of the top international e-commerce sites for luxury clothes, worked together to create the limited-edition Spikes capsule collection. The trademark colors of Louboutin, red and black, are employed to develop the 11 unique styles, such as the edgy, eye-catching spikes. Christian Louboutin’s tribute to ethereal seduction is part of this incredibly alluring and feminine collection. 

For more than 35 years, Liberty, an English fabric producer, has been a part of A.P.C.’s collections. Founded in 1875, this department store and manufacturer in London gained notoriety for its floral themes and continued experimenting with new methods. A.P.C. created a capsule collection using only Liberty textiles. They use unusual and inventive materials like polyester jerseys for sportswear, viscose-like silk twill, highly military-looking ripstop cotton, technical nylon, and even polyester jerseys. The shirts, dress shirts, slacks, and elasticated shorts in the capsule collection are handled in unconventional proportions to accentuate the designs’ striking appearance. Pieces with the same print may also be paired and worn as a whole ensemble.
