The 7 Best Watches of the Week, From Noah Wyle’s Cartier to Josh Brolin’s Blancpain

From limited-edition Cartier designs to sophisticated dive watches, celebrities made a strong statement with their wristwear this week, showcasing an impressive mix of luxury watchmaking, technical innovation and timeless style.

Among the standout appearances were Noah Wyle wearing a yellow-gold Cartier Santos-Dumont, David Beckham sporting Tudor’s updated Northflag and Tom Rhys Harries debuting Chopard’s latest Happy Sport. Meanwhile, Andrew Garfield, Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson, John Legend and Josh Brolin brought attention to established favorites from some of the industry’s most recognizable brands.

Here are seven notable watches that caught attention this week.

1. Andrew Garfield: Cartier Tank Américaine

Andrew Garfield brought a refined touch to the BFI London Film Festival screening of Artificial, pairing an olive Brioni outfit with the burgundy Cartier Tank Américaine.

Introduced in 2023, the watch features a large platinum case, an eggshell-finish grained dial and sword-shaped silvered-steel hands. Its burgundy alligator strap and matching ruby-set crown create a coordinated look that complements its distinctive rectangular silhouette.

Priced at approximately $28,300, the Tank Américaine combines contemporary refinement with the enduring design language of Cartier’s 1980s original.

2. Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson: Hublot Big Bang Original Unico Black Magic

Curtis Jackson, better known as 50 Cent, wore the Hublot Big Bang Original Unico Black Magic at the Los Angeles premiere of Street Fighter.

Released in 2025 as part of a collection marking the original Black Magic model’s 20th anniversary, the watch features a black ceramic case and a two-tone checkerboard dial with two counters.

Its in-house HUB1280 Unico automatic flyback chronograph movement delivers a 72-hour power reserve, combining contemporary materials with high-performance mechanics.

The watch retails for approximately $22,800, reflecting Hublot’s bold approach to modern luxury sports watches.

3. David Beckham: Tudor Northflag

David Beckham showcased Tudor’s updated Northflag while attending the NBA China Games, highlighting a model that connects the brand’s heritage with modern watchmaking technology.

Unveiled in September 2026, the new Northflag draws inspiration from the original model introduced in 2015 and discontinued in 2021. Both versions feature a 40 mm steel case, a black dial with prominent numerals at 12 and 6 o’clock, and a date window at 3 o’clock.

The latest edition replaces the original’s power-reserve indicator with a GMT complication, allowing the wearer to track an additional time zone. It also carries Master Chronometer certification.

Priced at approximately $5,525, the updated Northflag offers a practical combination of rugged styling and contemporary functionality.

4. John Legend: Audemars Piguet Royal Oak

John Legend opted for the Audemars Piguet Royal Oak during an appearance on The Jennifer Hudson Show.

The discontinued model, originally released in 2016, features a 41 mm yellow-gold case and a silver-white Grande Tapisserie dial. Its automatic Calibre 2385 movement powers a chronograph with a 30-minute counter at 3 o’clock, a 12-hour subdial at 9 o’clock, small seconds at 6 o’clock and an angled date display at 4 o’clock.

The combination of precious metal, intricate dial finishing and recognizable Royal Oak styling makes it a notable choice for collectors.

On the secondary market, the watch trades for approximately $60,000 and above.

5. Josh Brolin: Blancpain Fifty Fathoms Bathyscaphe Chronographe Flyback

Josh Brolin selected the Blancpain Fifty Fathoms Bathyscaphe Chronographe Flyback for the premiere of Whalefall, a survival thriller centered on a young scuba diver.

Introduced in late 2024, the watch features a 43.6 mm black ceramic case, a matching unidirectional bezel, a blue sunburst dial and a blue sail-canvas strap. Its dark aesthetic evokes the depths of the ocean while retaining an elegant finish.

Inside, the Calibre F385 movement provides a flyback chronograph, date display and small-seconds function. The watch is water-resistant to 30 bar, making it a technically capable addition to Blancpain’s dive-watch collection.

Its retail price is approximately $22,400.

6. Noah Wyle: Cartier Santos-Dumont

Noah Wyle wore one of Cartier’s most distinctive recent releases at the Cedars-Sinai Board of Governors Sunset Soirée.

The limited-edition Santos-Dumont, unveiled at Watches and Wonders earlier in 2026, combines a 31.4 mm yellow-gold case with a mesh-style bracelet and a gilded obsidian dial.

The design references Alberto Santos-Dumont, the Brazilian aviation pioneer for whom Cartier created its original Santos watch in 1904. Its combination of gold and obsidian gives the classic design a contemporary interpretation inspired by the aviator’s elegant personal style.

With an expected price of approximately $52,000, the limited-edition model is a particularly exclusive addition to Cartier’s collection.

Wyle has previously been spotted wearing other Cartier models, including the Tank à Guichets, Tank Américaine and Roadster.

7. Tom Rhys Harries: Chopard Happy Sport The First

Tom Rhys Harries added a playful touch of luxury to the Los Angeles premiere of Clayface with the newly released Chopard Happy Sport The First.

Introduced in early October 2026, the watch revisits the original Happy Sport, created by Caroline Scheufele in 1993. That design became known for combining stainless steel with freely moving diamonds suspended between sapphire crystals.

The latest version features a 26 mm Lucent Steel case, a silver-toned grained dial and five moving diamonds totaling 0.15 carats.

The result preserves the collection’s signature movement and sparkle while giving the design a fresh presence on the wrist.

Priced at approximately $6,660, the watch offers a distinctive alternative to more conventional luxury dress watches.

Celebrity Style Meets Fine Watchmaking

This week’s standout watches demonstrate the breadth of contemporary luxury watch design, from Cartier’s heritage-driven elegance and Audemars Piguet’s iconic sports-watch aesthetic to Hublot’s technical experimentation and Blancpain’s performance-focused dive watches.

The appearances also highlight how celebrities are bringing attention to both new releases and established models, reinforcing the role of wristwatches as expressions of personal style, craftsmanship and collecting taste.
