United States’ Frank DePew, as the driver and team owner, showcased strategic prowess by skillfully maneuvering through potential hazards. Using clever strategies, the home-state team chose an early pit stop, emerging second under caution, following the Safety Car.
After racing resumed, Robin Liddell from Great Britain executed a bold maneuver, securing the lead and fending off competitors. The French racer claimed second with teammate Rory van der Steur, while Matt Plumb and Paul Holton secured fourth.
Aston Martin’s Head of Endurance Motorsport, Adam Carter, praised the new Vantage GT4’s remarkable achievement in its third race. He stressed the significance of this victory, showcasing the car’s exceptional performance and readiness for its European debut. Carter praised Rebel Rock Racing for flawless strategy execution and commended Frank and Robin for exceptional driving skills.
Crafted around Aston Martin’s well-established bonded aluminum chassis and propelled by a potent twin-turbo 4.0-liter V8 engine, the new Vantage GT4 incorporates advancements derived from the latest Vantage road car to achieve heightened performance in motorsports. Notably, the Aston Martin Vantage GT4 program has enjoyed widespread success over the past decade, with the previous iteration of the GT4 racer securing multiple championships worldwide.
Furthermore, Aston Martin’s Vantage GT3 made a notable debut in qualifying at Sebring, with Mario Farnbacher from Germany securing the second position in the GTD Pro class aboard the #23 Heart of Racing (HoR) Vantage GT3, co-driven by works driver Ross Gunn from Great Britain and Alex Riberas from Spain. Team principal Ian James from Great Britain, Roman De Angelis from Canada, and compatriot Zacharie Robichon start 17th.
