Bentley’s First Fully Electric SUV: A New Era in Luxury

Bentley has officially announced that its first fully electric car will debut in 2026, taking the form of a luxury urban SUV. While the company suggests this model will create an entirely new automotive segment, early indications suggest it will likely resemble a high-end crossover, potentially utilizing the Volkswagen Group’s PPE platform—the same foundation for the Porsche Macan EV and Audi Q6 e-tron.

The EV will be designed, developed, and manufactured at Bentley’s headquarters in Crewe, marking a significant step forward in its electrification journey. This debut model will spearhead Bentley’s ambitious plan to release one plug-in hybrid (PHEV) or battery-electric vehicle (BEV) every year over the next decade.

Bentley’s previous Beyond100 strategy, announced in 2020, aimed for a fully electric lineup by 2030. However, the updated Beyond100+ strategy extends this timeline to 2035, acknowledging economic, market, and legislative realities. Until then, the company will continue offering plug-in hybrids alongside its expanding EV range.
