Bacardi-owned Patrón Tequila has announced a new partnership with the Recording Academy, becoming the official Tequila partner of the 2026 Grammy Awards. The collaboration marks the brand’s first appearance at the world’s most prestigious music awards ceremony.
Ahead of the 68th Grammy Awards, set to take place on 1 February, Patrón will roll out a range of premium experiences designed to elevate “music’s biggest night.” The tequila brand will feature prominently across Recording Academy events, including red-carpet moments, backstage activations, and VIP hospitality spaces.
Celebrating Craft and Creativity
D-J Hageman, Vice-President of US, Patrón Tequila, described the partnership as a natural alignment between two worlds driven by excellence.
“We’re honoured to kick off our first year as the official Tequila partner of the Grammy Awards,” Hageman said. “The Grammys represent the most exciting night in music, and Patrón is proud to celebrate alongside the artists who make it extraordinary. From the red carpet to backstage and beyond, this partnership allows us to toast the creativity, craftsmanship, and passion that define this moment.”
Introducing the Official Grammy Cocktail
To commemorate the inaugural collaboration, Patrón has created the official cocktail of the 2026 Grammy Awards, aptly named The Golden Record.
Developed in collaboration with Daniel Gonzalez, award-winning mixologist from Mexico City’s renowned Licorería Limantour, the cocktail highlights Patrón’s small-batch tequila heritage. Crafted at Hacienda Patrón in the highlands of Jalisco, Mexico, the drink features Patrón El Alto, a rare blend of extra añejo, añejo, and reposado tequilas.
The cocktail is positioned as a tribute to the artistry and dedication that define both the music celebrated at the Grammys and Patrón’s approach to tequila-making.
A Week-Long Presence at Grammy Events
Adam Roth, Executive Vice-President of Global Partnerships and Business Development at the Recording Academy, welcomed the collaboration.
“The Grammy Awards honour artistry at the highest level, and Patrón’s commitment to craftsmanship and quality reflects that same pursuit of excellence,” Roth said. “From the red carpet to backstage and audiences around the world, we’re excited to raise a glass with The Golden Record as we begin this spirited partnership.”
Beyond the official cocktail, Patrón will maintain a strong presence throughout Grammy Week, including a 360-degree Patrón bar at Grammy House—the annual multi-day immersive experience that brings together artists, industry leaders, and creatives.
Patrón will also be served at major Recording Academy events such as the MusiCares Person of the Year ceremony and Recording Academy Honors Presented by the Black Music Collective, each featuring dedicated Patrón bars and specialty cocktails.
Exclusive Content to Follow
Following the awards, Patrón and the Recording Academy will release an exclusive behind-the-scenes social media interview featuring Grammy Award–winning DJ and producer Kaytranada. The content will explore his journey toward musical excellence, filmed over a glass of Patrón.
