Tykun Unveils 42-Foot Tender With Yacht-Style Interior

Tykun has unveiled its new 42-foot flagship, the Tykun XII, combining the rugged engineering of a support vessel with the comfort and styling of a compact luxury yacht.

The Italian builder, launched by MED Group in 2025, presented the new tender at the Monaco Yacht Show. The Tykun XII builds on the 37-foot Tykun X introduced at the show the previous year, adding more space and a more luxurious interior.

The concept was developed by Tykun’s Benedetta Iovane, with yacht designer Tommaso Spadolini handling the design and naval architect Carlo Bertorello overseeing the hull and structural engineering. MED Group contributed engineering expertise developed through more than 400 military and patrol vessels delivered over the past decade.

“Our aim is to bring into the world of luxury yachting the know-how developed through vessels designed for military engineering and the most demanding operating conditions, combining performance and reliability with the elegance and comfort of high-end Made in Italy design,” said MED Group CEO Marco Galimberti.

Tykun XII Combines Speed With Flexible Living Space

The Tykun XII has a beam of nearly 11.5 feet and can accommodate between six and 14 guests. Its aluminum hull and deck are paired with a carbon-fiber hardtop, while a raised forward profile, stepped hull and enlarged fender system are designed to support stability, speed and protection.

Twin outboard engines are available with 400, 450 or 600 horsepower. With the most powerful setup, the tender can exceed 50 knots.

The model is offered in High Bow and Low Bow configurations. The High Bow version features a larger interior and forward sunbathing area, while the Low Bow provides a more compact interior alongside a spacious bow dining area.

Both versions have a central helm, a wraparound windscreen and a fully equipped bar beneath the hardtop. At the rear, fold-down side bulwarks open the cockpit into an expansive outdoor entertaining space.

Below deck, owners can choose from a double bed, V-berths or a convertible living area, alongside a separate bathroom with shower and dedicated storage.

Why It Matters

The Tykun XII brings yacht-style comfort to a vessel designed for both short outings and multi-day cruising. Its range of layouts, propulsion choices and customization options also allows owners to tailor the tender to how they plan to use it.
