Beond, a new player in the airline industry, is set to launch as the world’s first “premium leisure” carrier, offering all-luxury lie-flat seat flights on an Airbus A319. The Maldives-based airline aims to cater to travelers seeking opulent experiences in their leisure journeys.
All-Business Class Interior and Expansion Plans
Beond’s inaugural Airbus A319 features an all-business class interior with 44 lie-flat seats. The airline is preparing for rapid growth, with plans to add a long-range, 68-seat aircraft by the end of the year and expand its fleet in spring 2024. The company aims to create a niche for luxury leisure travelers.
Routes and Ambitions
Initially, Beond will operate three routes from the Maldives to the Middle East and Europe, with its first commercial flights scheduled for November. The airline’s ambition is to grow its fleet to 32 aircraft and connect the Maldives with over 60 destinations within the next five years. It aspires to provide unique and unspoiled travel experiences for its customers.
A Luxurious Outlook
Industry experts anticipate Beond to become the next successful all-business class airline in the long-haul category. While the airline offers luxurious interiors and design, certain aspects like refueling stops during European flights may require attention. Beond plans to mitigate this issue with the adoption of long-range Airbus A321neos. The airline is poised to embark on its journey with a focus on luxury and traveler satisfaction.
